Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Tonny Harjono admitted that there was no problem if later the Cyber Force, which was discussed to be formed within the TNI, was also filled with personnel from civilians for professional purposes.
"The important thing is what the organization's purpose is related to, more there. We don't have a problem from civilians or the military," said Tonny after attending a working meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday.
He said the Indonesian Air Force was ready if later the Cyber Force was formed into the fourth dimension. Because according to him, the Indonesian Air Force has so far had a unit that handles cyber defense affairs.
"So we have, the Air Force has a cyber unit under the Security Service," said the former Aide to President Joko Widodo.
According to him, the personnel who fill the cyber unit in the Indonesian Air Force have also studied cyber. The personnel, he said, previously already had a scientific basis regarding the field of information and technology (IT).
"Those who have an IT scientific basis are manning cyber units. Furthermore, they will follow the TNI's policy," he said.
Previously, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto admitted that his party had received orders from President Joko Widodo to form the Cyber Force as the fourth dimension in the TNI institution.
"I have been ordered by the President, yesterday from the MPR during a speech, to make the TNI Cyber Force," Agus said after attending a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/9).
According to him, the cyber unit will be different from other units in the TNI because it will be filled more by civilian personnel. Later, he said, the recruitment of the unit will prioritize expertise.
