MSSP Market Update: Cybersecurity has become a Core Pillar for MSPs

MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E are headed to IT Nation Connect in Orlando and Ingram Micro ONE in Washington DC starting today. Our staff will do our best to bring you the most important news as it happens at these events, and in the weeks to come we will follow up with additional coverage from these and all the other events we’ve attended in the last four weeks. It’s been busy between MSSP Alert Live, Canalys North America Forum, Kaseya DattoCon, IT Nation and Ingram Micro ONE.

We’ve covered some of these in our daily columns across both our sites, but there’s more to come.

One notable development across the board at all these events is evident -- cybersecurity has grown to be a core pillar of MSP offerings. While many MSPs partner with MSSPs or vendors to offer advanced cybersecurity services, these services have become as essential as RMM/endpoint management and as important a tool as PSA when it comes to serving MSP end customers.

Today’s MSSP Update

1. Managed SOC services launched - Pan-European cybersecurity specialist and MSSP 250 company Integrity360, has launched of Managed dSOC Services, an advanced security monitoring solution powered by Darktrace's AI-driven technology and Integrity360’s cyber security expertise. The partnership allows Darktrace customers to gain access to an expert team dedicated to ensuring continuous, real-time monitoring, with around-the-clock expertise that internal teams may lack and to fully optimise and benefit from the capabilities of the platform. The Managed dSOC Services are tailored to support businesses with proactive threat detection, rapid incident response, and continuous optimization of security investments, ensuring comprehensive protection against constantly evolving threats, the company said.

2. New Chief Revenue Officer - vCISO platform provider for MSPs and MSSPs, Cynomi, has appointed former SentinelOne channel chief Ken Marks as the Cynomi’s first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In his new role, Marks will lead Cynomi’s global sales strategy, and drive revenue growth, to support the company’s growth trajectory.

3. Browser and DNS protection - Atakama has enhanced its Managed Browser Security Platform with DNS filtering, enabling comprehensive in-browser and network-level filtering for MSPs. The company is showing off the new development at IT Nation Connect.

4. Cyber acquisition - CrowdStrike will acquire Adaptive Shield, a leader in SaaS Security. CrowdStrike says the deal will make it the only cybersecurity vendor to provide unified, end-to-end protection against identity-based attacks across the entire modern cloud ecosystem – from on-premises Active Directory to cloud-based identity providers and SaaS applications – delivered from a single, unified platform.

5. Malware research - Cofense Intelligence’s new research highlights the risks associated with group-delivered malware and some of the top combinations of malware over the last two years. Key findings include that threat actors typically use one or more delivery mechanisms to deploy a single malware sample, as this is often sufficient to compromise a computer and potentially its network.
