Bareskrim-BSSN Communications About Forensic Allegations Of Leaks Of 6 Million NPWP Data Including Owned By Jokowi's Family
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has communicated with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) in investigating the alleged leak of 6 million data on the Main Taxpayer Number (NPWP) of Indonesian citizens, including those of President Joko Widodo and his two sons, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Kaesang Pangarep.
Director of Cyber Crime Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji stated that one of the communications was regarding the implementation of digital forensics in order to find out the alleged criminal acts that occurred to determine the direction of the investigation process.
"We are also waiting with communication with BSSN to do forensics, what are the typical and topological things like, it will be important for later the direction of the investigation," Himawan told reporters, Tuesday, September 24.
In handling this problem, especially in two cyberspaces, the National Police is said to be unable to work alone. Cooperation between institutions must be carried out.
According to him, with cooperation, the data obtained related to alleged criminal offenses will get richer. So, it can be quickly investigated thoroughly.
"We have to work together, both with ministries and institutions that have the potential and with data owners, so it becomes an important thing and becomes an ecosystem for case disclosure. So cooperation is an important thing," said Himawan.
The alleged leak of NPWP data emerged after the founder of the Indonesian Ethical Hacker Teguh Aprianto uploaded a screenshot of the Breach Forums site. Through the X @secgron account, he said as many as six million NPWP data were traded on the site by an account named Bjorka on September 18, 2024.
